Keenstone

10 experts. 100 rules. Only what they agree on.

Distill is a free, open-source skill that makes your AI find what the leading experts on any problem agree on, then turns it into ranked rules, the principles behind them, and a plan for your situation.

Illustrative example for procrastination. Each filled dot is a source that recommends the rule. Amber rows are core consensus: 7 or more of 10 sources agree.

    How Distill works

Any single expert has blind spots. A rule that independent experts reach again and again is far more likely to hold up. Distill finds those rules, then digs out the principles underneath so you can adapt them instead of memorizing them.

    1. Frame the problem

Restate it in one precise sentence and name the fields that study it.

    2. Map the canon

Pick the 10 most authoritative sources, deliberately from different schools of thought.

    3. Extract the rules

Pull about 10 actionable rules from each source, around 100 in total.

    4. Score the consensus

Merge duplicates, count how many sources back each rule, and rank them. Disagreements are listed, not hidden.

    5. Find the roots

Turn the top rules into steps for your situation, extract the 3 to 7 principles behind them, and build a technique of your own.

You finish with three rules to start this week and a check-in after 14 days. In Claude Code and Cowork, each source gets its own subagent, so the rules are extracted in one round.

    Where Distill comes from

Distill grows out of an idea from one of Abdelkarim Ben Mohamadi's videos: to beat procrastination, read the 10 strongest books on it, extract their rules, keep the ones they share, and go back to the principles they grow from.

Distill applies the same five steps to any problem or skill, and adds safeguards so your AI doesn't invent sources along the way.
